91 thoughts on “AMA Satoshi Club x Radix, September 22nd

  1. I was shocked to discover that Radix’ last consensus algorithm, ‘Tempo’, achieved a whooping 1.4 million transaction per second in 2018. I didn’t knew there was a consensus that can attain that level of TPS. I am now very interested on Radix’ new and upcoming algorithm which is called “Cerberus”. It says that it so fast it can read and replay the entire history of Bitcoin in less than 30 minutes! Can you tell us the architectural model of this algorithm? How is this different from your previous consensus and what will be its estimated TPS? Will it surpass the Tempo algorithm?

  2. I saw that Radix is offering Flash Loans development and services in its platform. We all know that flash loans are prone from exploits and hacks that can lead to millions of token being robbed from DeFi platforms. How would you describe your defense against flash loans attacks? How secured is Radix infrastructure against these flash loans attacks?

  3. By the end of this year, Radix plan to deploy its next phase of development through the release of “Alexandria Mainnet”. It says it can offer a new DeFi development experience for both developers and users. Can you give us some points and thing on what to expect upon the launch of Alexandria? What will be the focus of this mainnet? Do you already have the a tentative date of its release?

  4. During your last visit to the club on June 30th, you talked about Olympia MainNet which you said will launch on 28th July. To come with olympia release is your own wallet which you said you build using “headerless chromium” that can equip your wallet with best security tools and practices. How has your Olympia MainNet and all other components that were released with it such as token creation, explorer, wallets, Instabridge, performed since you launched them? Also, how are you planning to rectify the current downtime your wallet is experiencing as a result of DDoS attack that it is presently suffering from? How best can a user access their fund in this wallet and use it securely for now, until you find a permanent fix?

  5. XRD is the Radix network native token, that was launched in July 2021. XRD is required to pay transaction fees in the Radix network and to earn staking rewards by staking it. I discovered that XRD can only be purchased on Bitfinex exchange. Why is it so please? Are there plans on ground to make XRD available on other exchanges. Why did you choose solely Bitfinex as the only platform where one can buy $XRD??

  6. In the Radix blockchain, there are two important components which will work together to secure and ensure a transparent blockchain activity of the Radix Protocol. These are the “Radix Public Network” and “Radix Distributed Ledger”. Can you describe what each of these components is made of and how they interface during blockchain transaction operation? What are the similarities or differences exist between them and how are they vital to the activity of Radix blockchain?

  7. Radix will has introduced JSON-RPC Radix Node API for developers, exchanges and wallets creators which can be used to connect with API endpoint of Archive nodes so as to directly interact with your public network. What are archive nodes and what differences exist between these nodes and two others nodes within your protocol which are “full node” and “validators node?” How is your API set up on external protocols and how is it used to access or control node actions such as transaction activities and network emission?

  8. Your Olympia Mainnet is live now. Alexandria is coming in the next quarter with Radix Engine V2. If I download the wallet today, will it work for Alexandria too? Or do I have to download a seperate wallet when you launch Alexandria? Is it better to wait for the launch? Further, when I try to download the wallet, I was instructed to choose from Windows, MacOS and Linux. It is convenient if we can have the wallet installed to our mobile. Do you introduce Android and iOS applications in the near future?

  9. One of the usecases of $XRD is “flash loans”. Currently, some exchanges and wallets offer collateralized loans. Is this feature similar to that concept? My practice is obtaining loans in bear market situations and investing them in selected crypto currencies. I earn a considerable profit and settle all the loans in the next bull market. Will this flash loans be suitable for this practice? How do you calculate the interest? What is the repayment period? What are the prerequisites to obtain a loan?

  10. What is happening in your labs? I understand you conduct various research and publish outputs. However, what is the contribution of those research to the development of Radix? Up to now, did you find any drawbacks of similar projects or wallets through the research conducted by labs? Did you design Radix with an ability to overcome them? Like some projects do, do you offer any education materials for the community through labs? Further, if community members have expertise in the field, can they join with your research work at labs?

  11. Radix has its own cross-chain bridge, Instabridge, that allows users to convert asset from Radix chain to another. However, unlike other cross-chain bridge where users can perform cross-asset movement frictionlessly and without any form of identity verification, Instabridge is different because all users will have to pass KYC using your InstaPass because they are granted access to your bridge. Also, cross-chains action are manually reviewed and verified for approval. This is resulting in a longer swap delay and impacting on user experience. Why do you think its necessary to pass KYC before a user can use your bridge but no KYC is introduced for token minting, creation or purchase? How can user use InstaPass to pass KYC? Why don’t you automate the swap process and remove human factors that is lagging the process? When will Instabridge allow swap of tokens between Radix and other blockchain apart from Ethereum?

  12. From your document, you said that the security of Radix Blockchain is heavily dependent on your validators nodes. How many validator nodes exist within the Radix blockchain and how are these validators formed or located? Who can become validators? Why do you allow XRD holders to chose validators and delegate their tokens to them which these validators use in partaking in network consensus? Can’t this option be misused? What reward or slashing model have you design to ensure that nodes are committed to good behaviour that will promote the technical ability for maintaining transparent security of blockchain?

  13. With the launch of Olympia, users can now create their own tokens as they wish. What type of tokens can users create using your token creation option? What skills sets are required before a token can be created and how has your protocol simplify the entire process? Also, how will you be able to limit the rates at which fake version of real tokens can easily be created like the way we have it now in other blockchains such as BSC and Ethereum? How do you ensure this option is not misused?

  14. Talking about the strategy & marketing, could you provide some numbers to see what the community of Radix followers on Twitter had an impact on recently? What is the community effect on the long-term research network, Cassandra and the upcoming engine Alexandria? Thank you.

  15. Please explain why Radix decided to unlock final amount of XRDs on September 15th, 2021. What changes will it bring to newcomers and current users? Will it eliminate transaction fees in XRDs? Thank you!

  16. Radix is the only decentralized network where developers will be able to build quickly without the constant threat of exploits and hacks, but what methods will they use to ensure the sanctity of their protocols? How can developers be sure that Radix can be trusted?

  17. The last Radix Token Unlock taked place on September 15. How will this event help Radix accelerate share distribution, decentralization and network adoption? Why did you decide to adopt a partial token unlocking model?

  18. Radix has a ledger royalty system that will reward those who contribute dApp code to the ecosystem. My question is, will there be other ways to earn rewards within Radix? Does their native token offer performance or passive returns to its holders?

  19. What are the purpose of the flash loans? How flash can be it? I wonder if it’s completely secure due to the fast all can be. And very important, who can apply to a flash loan?

  20. On the Radix platform In December, they will launch their Alexandria release, which is all about DeFi dApp builders; it will be the first release of its DeFi-specific programming language, Scrypto. Can you explain what Alexandria is? How can Alexandria be accessed? What advantages does Alexandria have? How does your specific DeFi programming language work?

  21. Developer royalties are a way for DeFi developers at Radix to earn long-term recurring revenue from building great things. If you create something BIG for the Radix DeFi ecosystem, you should be able to add a royalty every time it is used! What kind of royalties or rewards does a developer get when creating for Radix? What requirements must be met to access this royalty program?

  22. Radix is building the future of decentralized finance (DeFi) and is a layer one protocol specifically designed to serve DeFi. It is necessary because traditional finance is not working well enough for the world. We all know that DeFi is the future, and moving the global financial system from $ 360T + to DeFi will make it better for everyone. What are the innovative elements that Radix is introducing on its platform? Why could Radix have an advantage over traditional finance? Are you building all the necessary tools for developers to deprecate TradFi by enabling DeFi on a global scale on Radix?

  23. All Radix launches are named after great cities / monuments in world history. They named it this way because each one helps build the modern world we all live in, and Radix is building the future world that all finances will live in. Olympia is the first version of the Radix core network. Alexandria, Babylon and Xi’an will follow. Can you explain what each of these versions are Olympia, Alexandria, Babylon and Xi’an? How is each different? What advantages do they offer?

  24. Olympia, the first release of the Radix core network, followed by Alexandria, Babylon and Xi’an. Are these stages integrated with each other or work differently? When one version ends, what will happen to the previous version when the other one starts, will it be deleted and disappear?

  25. I read that the initial launch of Radix Public Network is live and that Olympia brings with it the native token RADIX (XRD), this is interesting especially because of the fundamental Radix technology stack, but, arguably, this is the first public launch of Radix Network? as Olympia will usher in a launch roadmap in the Radix ecosystem?

  26. On Medium it says there is a bit of talk about Xi’an’s unlimited linear scalability and unprecedented DeFi readiness, but this means that Olympia has delivered the core of the Radix ecosystem, this core will remain fixedly in place even if Radix continues to grow with future versions? How will this relate to the development of more complex tools in the future?

  27. you were talking about Olympia providing all the necessary functionality to create, transfer and stake tokens on the network. Does this include a non-fragmented version of the Cerberus consensus algorithm? What is the minimum performance of transactions or what is the minimum speed that we will observe in your transactions?

  28. The DeFi market we are in right now is at a minimum level by looking at the potential of DeFi. If DeFi returns to its own potential and DeFi revolutionizes global finance, will Radix be able to work in the DeFi system, can it create an innovative Radix ecosystem? Is Radix able to follow technological developments and how scalable is Radix?

I realized that your project is addressing economic problems by using the existing DeFi market and trying to solve these problems through DeFi, what different opportunities and benefits does Radix provide for developers and new participants in DeFi? What ways do you follow to announce Radix to everyone and make it a general productive network?

  31. Some platforms similar to Radix do not have sufficient capacity to perform their transactions due to the high demands of users according to the request time, do you consider that the performance of your transactions is more than enough to support the expected demand? Will you add additional features and performance in future releases?

  32. one of your blogs posted that everything related to Radix’s transaction performance will culminate with the launch of Xi’an, which will implement Cerberus’s unlimited linear scalability completely fragmented. What is this completely fragmented Cerberus unlimited linear scalability all about and how will this improve the performance of your transactions?

  33. There is a new product or update that has been published by your platform called Olympia, I have observed part of the planning and operation of this, it looks very interesting and useful, but generally when these types of updates are released, its components or protocols are also published used, what are the Olympia components or what protocol will it use? Anyone can install this to operate on the network nodes or do you need to know a lot about technical documentation?

  34. What are the biggest downsides and flaws that Radix sees in the DeFi market today? How is Radix trying to solve these flaws? What are the ways you follow for users exposed to DeFi risks?

  35. You created a network that is self-incentivizing which is the Radix Royalties system,it is stated in you article that when a developer creates a Component on the Radix network, they are able to set a royalty fee that is due anytime their component is used. The world runs on open source code, how is it possible that developers component are safe from theft? How do also ensure that rewards are received by the right developers? You made mention of other initiatives that you will be bringing in to help incentivise the growth of your ecosystem which is The Subsidies for the Royalties, can you please tell us more about this new initiative?

  36. I notice in Olympia(RPN-1)roadmap that Radix uses the consensus mechanism Proof of Stake Sybil Protection but I see a different thing on the Cerberus roadmap that the Sybil Protection is DPoS.I am a kind of confuse here.Does that mean Radix is both PoS and DPoS at the same time?If yes,why combine both mechanism on one platform? Will Olympia implement the full Cerberus Protocol? What is the minimum/maximum validator node size on both Network?

  37. Radix aims to get 100million people into DeFi by 2025,to achieve that you created an organization known as GoodFi.Can you tell us more about this organization? What is the sole purpose of creating it?Is GoodFi public or anonymous? If its public,is it possible that investors in the Crypto world can be part of your organization? How can we get access to it?

  38. You mentioned that the Radix engine is a highly efficient and highly secure execution environment that will eventually run DeFi applications, but you say that for this it is necessary to first launch Babylon from Radix Public Network, in cases like this sometimes it is required to test the reliability of the environment before After starting to add more complexity to the system, who will be in charge of doing this security test and what will they do when obtaining the results of this test?

  39. You have mentioned in some of your informative articles a tool that I do not know very well how it works but I know that it is related to the security and reliability of the Radix ecosystem, what is the role of Radix Engine v1 and how this tool generates security and reliability within the Radix ecosystem? Is this tool already implemented or will it be in the near future?

  40. you once said that the genesis of the native RADIX token XRD can be used to support network security and earn rewards for broadcasts. How is this “Genesis” made up and what actions of the community make these rewards increase according to the emissions? What is the way to support the security of the network to obtain these native tokens as a reward?

  41. Radix has a dual token system in place. Would you tell us what are the main benefits you’ve seen come out of this system? I think it is quite unnecessarily complicated, and many others think so too. So how do you make the process easier and faster for users? What are some changes or upgrades you’ve developed since launch, or since your last AMA here?

  42. I saw a recent announcement from the Radix Team Research Division recruiting people with a focus on Economics and Stable Coin Algorithms so I’ll assume you are cooking something big on this regard, could you tell us about your future plans to improve the Radix stable coin algorithm and your economic model?

Without a doubt, Radix has been a platform with a solid advance since its creation, you consider yourselves as the most significant innovation in crypto since the Bitcoin genesis block, can you explain to us what are the mechanisms that you will use to achieve unlimited scalability and composability? How could Radix compare to Bitcoin technology?

  44. I learned that there are some alternative methods for paying transaction fees on the network while eXRD will continue to exist as a permanent bridge to the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. What are these most useful alternative methods to pay these transaction fees? will holders be able to convert between eXRD and XRD on a 1: 1 basis?

  45. You previously commented that like the ERC20 token, the tokens created by Radix Engine v1 can be created to represent anything the issuer wants on the public Radix network. Generally these processes require some technical knowledge. How complex is it to perform these steps within the Radix ecosystem? Is there any technical documentation you can offer for this?

  46. I heard that there is an initial version of the native Radix Wallet application, which offers delegated bets within the wallet: “Radix Wallet is compatible with any token issued on the Radix network and is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux”, The Ledger Nano S integration? Where can I find details on how to install the Radix Ledger application?

  47. “Radix is the only protocol that uses fragmentation to provide linear scalability, without breaking composability”. I took this sentence from one of your Medium articles and I wish you could explain them in a simple way for those of us who don’t have a lot of technical DeFi knowledge. In what way Radix manage to maintain the Composability that other solutions break? What would be the result of keeping the attributes of scalability and composobility together?

  48. Radix claims with a lot of certainty to be the layer one protocol that offers Defi “100 times security and 1000 times more scalability” than all the blockchain that have been developed so far. Could you explain us how you achieve this? What is the “Secret Ingredient” that Radix has unlike the other proposals?

  49. Can you explain us more about your new products called Instapass and Instabrigde? How is the interaction of both elements into the ecosystem?

  50. you mention on your website that you have 1000 times more scalability than: Hashgraph, cardano, Polygon, Anything, Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot, among other platforms that are very popular among users, I would like you to give us more details on how this is possible, what features and/or elements allow you to give such a statement?

What reward do users receive for each Radix upgrade? You can give us more details about these functions.

  53. Radix plans to be unique and innovative and is creating new components using a language called Scrypto. But what is the functionality of this language called Scrypto? What style of programming does it provide and what type of components does it use on what is it based? Are Radix developers confident that the component model is a more engineered solution to make Radix a more programmable network? You can give us more details on this point.

  54. Could you tell us why you really burn 100% of the tokens used in transaction fees? Wouldn’t it be more useful to be able to burn 50% and use the other 50% to reward token holders in order to be more attractive?

  55. Can Radix products adapt and be compatible with the different DeFi protocols of the different blockchains? If not, could you tell us which ones are only compatible with?

  56. Could you tell us a little more about Radix Labs, what will your research really focus on? Will it be to give greater use of Blockchain and DeFi to real life? or just to develop more DeFi products?

  61. I read on your blog that “Radix core team agrees that now is the right time to proceed with unlocking all (e) XRD”, but could you really explain why you think this is the time to unlock all of them? Will it not bring any problem of falling value in the market?

  62. Really DeFi products are still very limited by various problems such as security, liquidity and lack of scalability, could it be that with Radix all these problems will be solved? If so,then can we enjoy the full potential of DeFi with Radix? or will it have some other limitation?

  63. I read that Radix Public Network was launched with the first version of Radix Node to the world called Olympia, what is the purpose of this version, what opportunities does it offer to users, if any, and how will its next versions, Alexandria, Babylon and Xi’an, differ?

  64. you mention that Radix is the only decentralized network where developers can build quickly without the constant threat of exploits and hacks, so could you tell us about the strategies, methods or systems you use to avoid exploits and hacks, and how you guarantee the security of your users’ assets?

  65. How can users ask for flash loans in Radix, and what are the motivations for borrowers in this system? Radix is made for developers so they can build fast and securely, but I would also know, how easy is it to use the platform, is it necessary to be an experienced developer to use it?

  66. In the website of Radix, it is written that scale will never be a bottleneck, does the platform have a maximum of transactions or simultaneous users it can support? Or do you consider it virtually infinite? Also developers are able to build quickly without the constant threat of exploits and hacks, how can the platform ensure security in a level that hacking attempts will never be a problem?

  67. The first version of Radix Mainnet, Olympia, they say is assured and tested. My question is: How would the XRD token functionality be? What would be the minimum deposit in Radix and where can I buy the token? What is the recommendation that you offer to give the best use to the tokens and get the best out of it? What is more advisable to bet, yearly, monthly or daily? What would be the benefit of each of these functions? Where should I transfer my Radix tokens, to start from scratch on your platform, you can give us more details, to better understand. Thank you

  68. Radix is currently running a betanet; how do you run this betanet? What is your motivation for participating in Betanext?

  69. There are three distinct concepts that have become RADIX’s motto: Build quickly and don’t break things; Recognize and reward everyone who contributes to its improvement and Make the scale frictionless. Could you please explain what you mean?

  70. As you stated, 50,000 TPS is insufficient for DeFi. If Radix has solved unlimited linear scalability without compromising atomic composability, what has Radix done for TPS so far?

  71. I read that your new release Alexandria, will follow in Q4 of 2021 and provide the first look at a new programming language called Scrypto designed for quick development of secure financial applications on a decentralized ledger. Scrypto caught my attention. Will you allow deployment of Scrypto-based applications to the Radix network in the near future?

  72. A component of the Radix Public Network (RPN) are the Node Runners and Staking Nodes. As stated, node runners are tasked with the duty of running nodes, and anyone can basically perform this operation. Can you let us know how easy it is to be a node runner and the basic hardware requirements? However, a node runner that has their RADIX locked are called Staking Nodes, and such individual enjoys certain privileges which are not available to a typical node runner. Can you talk on this, what is the minimum Stake amount that makes one a Staking Node, what privileges do they get to enjoy and how many Node Runners and Staking Nodes are currently in the RPN?

  73. There have been an issue with Radix wallet / explorer, described as BLUE SCREEN ISSUE this is causing the wallet to send too many requests, which is triggering the DDoS prevention implemented by Radix as a result of repeated DDoS attacks in the past. This issue has been a major concern for Radix community members. So my questions are has this issue caused any serious consequence on Radix or lost of any fund? What are you doing to solve the problem? What are your short term and long term solutions to the problem?

  74. Radix recently concluded it’s final token unlocking event with the remaining eXRD tokens unlocked due to very high staking levels across a wide range of validator nodes. 76. Radix claims to fix the big problem of DeFi hacks, those are big words since we’ve seen that even the most sophisticated exchanges have suffered from this at any moment, could you tell us what parties are involved in Radix security system and how do you incentivize them I achieve the greatest security mechanism from the crypto world?

  77. Hi Radix team! You mentioned that while all engaged Radix community members can proudly call themselves Radvocates, there are those who deserve recognition for consistently going the extra mile to help further the project, your vision, and the Radix community. For that reason you decided to launch the Radvocates Program. Can we still apply to become a Radvocate? What are the benefits of being part of this program? Thank you

  78. Radix envision to be the decentralized NETWORK where developers will be able to build quickly without the constant threat of exploits and hacks, where every improvement will get rewarded, and where scale will never be a bottleneck. This vision will be delivered through release of developer features for builders and applications like ALEXANDRIA and BABYLON. What are the features of Alexandria and Babylon? How are they implemented in your Network to deliver on your vision and provide the unlimited scalability for other applications?

  79. The Genesis of the Radix Public Network is the Olympia launch. And in terms of transaction finality time and low transaction fees, the Olympia delivered greatly. But the next release by Radix will be the Alexandria. When will the Alexandria launch happen? Can you give us a brief on what problems Alexandria will be solving? Lastly, what next after Alexandria?

  80. As at today, DeFi is only 0.02% of the size of global finance. DeFi is forecasted to get 5000x bigger at the minimum. But to do this, it needs a place where developers can quickly and securely make dApps quickly and it also needs a secured place as nobody wants to risk losing all their money from hacks and exploits. Do you think Radix can make all these possible for DeFI? And how can you convince us that Radix is the only place where DeFi will Thrive?

  81. I understand that the most fundamental unit of the Radix stack is the Radix Node. What is the Radix Node all about? What are the components of the Radix Node? What relationship does the Radix Node have with the Radix Engine?

Also what is the difference between three Radix Node modes: Validator Node, Full Node and Archive Node on which Node may be run?

  83. Radix is looking forward to offer an unlimited transactions per second and low transaction fees. So,with those offering being mentioned, how would your platform make it into possibility to achieve? What kind of technological programming method will you apply to Radix to have an unlimited transactions per second? As you offer low transaction fees,do you think it will share an equally fair return with the unlimited transactions per second you will offer? Thank you

  84. I just found out in Radix Telegram that there is an ongoing issue regarding your Radix wallet. So can you tell us what the issue all about? What is the caused of the issue? How does your platform tried to deal and solve the issue with regards to Radix Wallet? What is your plan ahead to not let this problem happen again especially to Radix wallet? Any timeline that you can promise to your users when this issue will be resolve? Since the issue is all about the Radix wallet, how can you assure that the funds of wallet in your users will be intact and safe? Thank you

  85. Tell me, do you have similar goals to Solana? Is it possible to say that you are similar projects? Solana also provides a service for creating a Dapp.
    has
50,000 transactions per second and a block time of 0.4 seconds
28.4 million transactions per second on a 40 gigabit network.
What is your advantage over Solana?

  86. After reading that you are developing the concept of Money Lego.
I don’t understand everything very well yet. Tell me please, is it possible to create Dapp on the principle of Low code? Or is it the ability to add add add-ons to already created Dapps? For example, in an already created game with blocks to add the ability to work with different blockchains?
    I’ll ask a simpler question.
Is it possible for a person who doesn’t know code to create a fully functional Dapp or is this solution only for professional coders?

  87. What is the main approach that Radix gives to its tokens, how much does Radix work depend on the Cerberus consensus, what are the main uses of the native Radix token, what are the functional differences between eXRD and XRD, what are the components Radix essentials, how important is optional KYC / AML compliance to Radix?

  88. How have you handled so far regarding audits and security aspects and protocols to protect your ecosystem and the participation of your investors?

  89. Since Radix has solved unlimited linear scalability without breaking atomic composability, exactly how many stages make up its network and when will it be completely ready?
