Welcome to another episode of our AMA\nseries. Today we are glad to tell you about the AMA session with our friends\nfrom MoonEdge<\/a>, the first\ndecentralized Launchpad fully dedicated to project launches on Polygon. Gold Rocket | Satoshi\nClub: <\/strong>Please, let’s start with a little intro! tell us about yourself. How\ndid you develop in crypto? how did you get into MoonEdge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>Sure!\nI\u2019m a Co-Founder and CEO of MoonEdge. I went through a strange but interesting\njourney: I’m a graduate student in mechanical engineering with a particular\ninterest for computer science.  I am\ncompleting my master’s degree on the use of artificial intelligence for\nprosthetic control in robotics. I also co-founded a startup that offers\ncloud-based restaurant management solutions with artificial intelligence for\nsales forecasting that leverages big data. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I learnt about bitcoin back in 2013 and bought some back\nthen, more out of curiosity than as an investment. Then, my love of\ncutting-edge technology made me discover Ethereum back in 2015 and since then,\nI have been heavily invested into crypto (mostly in projects on Ethereum or\nworking close to this ecosystem).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of MoonEdge came first when we saw the rug-pulls\nproblem on BSC and wanted to avoid this kind of scams on Polygon. We then\npushed further the idea to come with a way to bring a fair Launchpad to Polygon\nat the same time, with a low entry barrier, so even smaller investors can\nparticipate in any IDO. We are also working on further incentivation mechanisms\nand will always continue to refine our system to stay competitive and adapted\nto the ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>MoonEdge\nis the first decentralized Launchpad fully dedicated to project launches on\nPolygon (previously Matic). Our mission is to offer easier token distribution,\nto facilitate fundraising for new projects, and to guarantee project legitimacy\non our platform.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been developing and refining our platform for the\nlast 3 months. We also went through a long fundraising process to assure that\nwe find the best partners for the long-term development of MoonEdge! We plan to\nbe in constant evolution to adapt to the crypto ecosystem. We are also working\nhard to bring more projects to Polygon, and working closely with the Polygon\nteam to do so. MoonPillar: <\/strong>The\nMoonEdge team consists of 5 crypto veterans as well as two great advisors that\nhelped masterfully with the development and marketing of the project. We will\npresent these advisors in the upcoming weeks at the same time as a partners and\nstrategic investors reveal.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little bit more about the team\u2026 we have one CEO (your\nhumble servant) who also know how to code😉, two experienced\nbackend developers, a full stack developer that can literally do magic and an\nawesome graphic designer solo team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonEdge is the first\ndecentralized launch pad fully dedicated to IDO on Polygon. What was the idea\nthat made MoonEdge choose Polygon over other platforms like: Ethereum, BSC\u2026?\nCan you give us some more information about IDO on MoonEdge? Is KYC required or\nany requirements?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 MoonPillar: <\/strong>We all know the Ethereum pitfalls: fees skyrocket as\nwell as the transaction times. But at the same time, Ethereum is the most\ndecentralized and vibrant crypto ecosystem. This is why we looked for a\nprotocol that work closely to Ethereum: a protocol that keeps a high level of\ndecentralization and security, but that is more than a plain layer 2 scaling\nsolution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did we choose Polygon? it has all the necessary elements\nto be the key Ethereum scaling solution leader: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-A growing developer community <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-A production-ready and easy-to-use platform <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Already a lot of great projects are migrating from layer 1\n(Ethereum) to Polygon <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-A high level of decentralization and high security <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– The lowest gas cost and near-instant transactions <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IDO on MoonEdge will initially be a two rounds system.\nIn the first round, each MoonEdge participant has a guaranteed allocation\n(based on tier) during a pre-determined timeframe. In the second round, unsold\ntokens are reallocated based on our tier-system and are sold on FCFS\n(first-come, first-served) basis. Only the people that participated in the\nfirst round can take part in the second round. \nWe are also exploring other mechanisms to get a sustainable model for\nthe mid- to long-term. We won\u2019t reveal them for now since there are a lot of\ncopycats around! 👀  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yes, KYC will be required because of the heavy\nregulations on launchpads and IDOs. We know it is not perfect, but we must do\nit since the platform isn\u2019t totally decentralized at launch (not a full DAO). A\nproject launching a platform like MoonEdge needs to take the legal side\nseriously or face a lot of legality issues otherwise!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>We\nare the first decentralized launch pad fully dedicated to projects launching on\nPolygon and we perform a full due diligence before hosting any project on\nMoonEdge. We have been building the Launchpad in the last 3 months and have not\nlaunched yet because we want to be 100% ready and offer the best experience\npossible to our community! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the current launchpads are based on a lottery system\nto decide who can participate in IDOs. This leaves room for bots to abuse the\nsystem and hog a large portion of allocations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also totally decentralized launchpads, where\nanyone can launch any projects they can imagine. Even if there are some\nsecurities to avoid complete rug-pulls, no one is reviewing projects before\nhosting them on these fully decentralized launchpads. Thus, nobody is carefully\nassessing the project\u2019s quality, the teams experience, the development stage,\netc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonEdge uses a strict selection process to determine\nprojects eligibility for launch, ensuring that only top-tier projects are\nbrought to our community, minimizing the risks of scams and\/or rug-pulls. With\nthe two rounds system, we offer a fair and easy way for project to distribute\ntheir tokens to a wide community whilst also helping them do their fundraising\nto support even further their development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About MoonEdge reward\nmechanisms. How does this mechanism work? what are the innovations of this\nsystem? How do you guarantee to keep users in the long term being in such a\ncompetitive field?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>MoonEdge\nwill firstly release a tiered-system composed of 4 tiers (the first one will be\ndesigned to have a very low entry barrier, to give everyone a chance to\nparticipate in IDOs). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will have a special tier for our community supporters.\nThis pool will serve the purpose to reward MoonEdge supporters for more than\nthe number of tokens that they hold. It will be released a little bit after the\nlaunch to reflect our core values of complete fairness and open inclusion; no\nmatter the portfolio size, everyone is welcomed! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other incentive mechanisms are to be added after the launch\nto reward our long-term supporter. We did a lot of research to come up with our\nbest reward system. After the few tests left, they will be ready to be\nreleased!  We will also use the data\ngenerated by each IDO to fine-tune the Launchpad and thus, improve not only the\nuser experience but mostly the   \nMoonEdge\u2019s architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gold Rocket | Satoshi\nClub: <\/strong>Please tell us, could you share your roadmap?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>In\nQ2, on launch day, the Launchpad will be fully ready to launch projects. We will\nthen release incentive mechanisms to reward our community and support MoonEdge\nfurther. The partnership development will continue on. Exploration of a NFT Launchpad\nis also something for which interest was sparked by one of our experienced\npartners in the domain (to be revealed soon). Moving to Q3, we will gradually\nimplement our governance system, starting with community voting. Refinement of\nour tiered-systems and the addition of new mechanisms to assure long-term\nsupport of projects and MoonEdge will come next. In Q4, MoonEdge will migrate\ntoward a full DAO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of other features and refinement will also be added\nalong the road, so this is only a quick summary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonEdge is creating a\nfair system that allows investors with any capital size to have a guaranteed\nallocation in every IDO. No exceptions. There will also be no unfair mechanics,\nsuch as a lottery, that advantages bots. We believe that a fair launch pad\nplatform is key to greater project adoption. So, can you tell us exactly how\nwill MoonEdge works for a fairer system? What would be the mechanics and\nstructure of this fair system that your platform is cooking to offer to IDO\ninvestors? Do you consider a small whale or investors for this fairer system?\nThank you<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>Like\nsaid previously, we will use a two round system where everyone has a guaranteed\nallocation based on the fair-tiered system. This way, there will also be no\nunfair mechanics, such as a lottery, that advantages bots.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smaller investors were considered in the loop since the\nbeginning and the tiers were designed as such. The choice of building on\nPolygon was also partially due to the fact that transactions are super cheap,\nso no one is priced out from participating in IDO. It makes no sense to spend\n$150 of gas for a $100 allocation in a given IDO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our system will also stay in constant evolution. We believe\nin dynamic systems that can adapt to the ecosystem. This is why we will use the\npost-IDO data and feedback from our community to improve MoonEdge. We are also\nworking on the integration of more features, one being the implementation of a\nNFT Launchpad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name MoonEdge\ninvites thoughts of meme tokens and meme launchpads that are quite popular now\non BSC and other chains. What projects do you plan to launch on your pad, will\nyou concentrate on any particular segment of the market like meme tokens? Or\nwill you have a mix of different projects that are not fitting into one theme.\nThank you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>We\ndidn’t choose the name of MoonEdge to be associated with meme tokens, even\nthough everything related to Moon can be seen as such😅<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polygon is all designed for gaming, NFT, social tokens and\nDeFi. We can see it with the kind of projects that build upon Polygon, but also\nthe new ones that we heard about😏 However, we won’t\nrestrict ourselves to only these types of project. If a project fits all our\nselection criteria and if our committee made of our partners agrees on hosting\nthis particular project, it will be hosted on MoonEdge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MoonPillar: <\/strong>We\ndid a long brainstorming and finally decided to go with this name (also after\nwe saw the potential graphic design that could fit well with this name). We\nweren’t sure between MoonEdge and MoonEdger. What would you have chosen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
