Sure so we are up to 12 engineers now, 3 blockchain\nspecialists who have worked at places like the german govt on blockchain. 6\nfull stack engineers, some doctors of maths and machine learning. Then on the\ncreative side people like Saiful who did creative for Avatar and worked at Riot\ngames<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\nunderstand that i can create my own REALM even i can combine music, art, and\ngames to create the perfect realm, i can Plant trees to make food & feed\npets too. it seems to me amazing, it\u2019s magical all the options we have here,\nbut it sounds a little difficult to me too. How easy is create a REALM? Does it\nneed some special technical knowledges or can anyone do it without problems?\nAll of this is beautiful, but i wonder where will save my microverse? Do i need\nan app for doing everything i mentioned before?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew\nLarby – Realm Maker:<\/strong> I will let joban answer how to make a\nrealm and I will explain that you can just explore realms and discover NFTs so\nyou don’t need any special skills to start with Realm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joban:<\/strong>\nGreat question! So we’re working on providing tools for users of all types – we\nwant Realm to be accessible so that some people can create super technical\nvisions and others can choose a template and display their NFTs and socialise\nwith their friends<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, non-technical players can choose from\nseveral Realm templates, such as Art Gallery, Cyberpunk, Samurai to easily\ncreate their own space. For skilled creators, Godot allows us to provide\nadvanced tools for creation. Realm will ultimately contain a fully fledged\ngaming ecosystem hosting features such as physics, game mechanics, and\nmonetisation opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nis known that the transactions and minting of NFTs have a big environmental\nimpact since an NFT transaction can reach a carbon footprint of 48kg CO2, so it\ngot my attention that you plant real trees when trees are planted in Realm. Is\nthis your way of balancing the carbon emissions generated by NFTs? Are Realm\nand the technology it uses environmental-friendly?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew\nLarby – Realm Maker:<\/strong> Great question. We\u2019ve spent a long time\nthinking about how virtual worlds can impact the real world. We are using\nPolygon to be more efficient when processing transactions. So for instance, a\ntransaction processed on Polygon is about 8500x less emissions than a\ntransaction processed on Layer 1 Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So to counteract the small amount of CO2 we emit, we\nhave partnered with Eden Reforestation, who will plant trees in real life every\ntime someone plants a virtual tree in Realm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you plant virtual trees in Realm, they make\nfruit which the pets and creatures that live in realms eat. This creates an\neconomy inside realms that also fixes the real world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s very important that we become carbon neutral\nusing these mechanisms as it helps us appeal to a broad market and also means\nthe mainstream press will cover our metaverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We really want the whole world to experience Realm,\nnot just crypto people as it makes for a strong business and token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew\nLarby – Realm Maker:<\/strong> The short answer is infinite and that’s\nwhy it’s so important to do this on the blockchain, we literally have no idea\nwhat could come out 100 years later. @Joban_T will add more info<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joban:<\/strong>\nWe looked to the concept of epigenetics for the ways in which pets mutate –\nthey are affected by their parents genes, their surroundings, and the\ninteractions they have. There is no theoretical limit to the impact of these,\nand the pet breeding and mutation is something that will evolve organically\nfrom the genesis of each pet species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew\nLarby – Realm Maker:<\/strong> Ok this is a few questions 😎:\nYes you can combine music art etc into your realm and then mint it as an\nERC1155. You cannot breach copyright law and we are going to implement machine\nlearning to highlight NFTs that are clearly copies. When we find a copy the NFT\nwill go to a decentralised moderation panel who can limit the visibility of\nthat art but not remove it from the blockchain<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A for royalties of your own NFTs, they can be\nautomatically split between multiple people and after multiple sales 🥳<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are\npartnering with tier 1 NFT artists to give them better spaces to exhibit their\nwork, for instance we include live audio like Clubhouse App into the realm that\nis displaying the NFT art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of the roadmap\nfor 2021, we have basically finished our smart contracts, Layer 2 integrations\non polygon etc. Going forward we are focussed on the simple creator tools that\nenable you to make realms easier, on the smart objects that enable you to\nmonetise a realm, eg adding a virtual shop to the realm and finally on building\nmore cool realms for people to explore and pets to find ; )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working  withGodot means the Realm engine is\ncompletely independent of any centralised entity who could impose censorship or\ncontrol. It also is very lightweight and we can build easily for all platforms\n– you wont have to download a 1.5GB game file like most unity \/ unreal games!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
